Linda Abbott began her formal art studies at the Queensboro Art Society of Allied Arts and Crafts of New York. Privately, she studied under Russian impressionist Ludmilla Morosowa of Hunter, New York. Recognizing her work, the Art Students League of New York awarded her a full scholarship to the University of New York where she received her degree in design.

Linda was successful working as a water colorist and pastel artist until she decided to follow her lifelong love of glass art. Her artistic background allowed her to progress rapidly as she apprenticed at Creative Glass, Inc. of Saft Lake City, Utah. As a glass artist, she achieved recognition as her work was featured on ABC, NBC and CBS affiliate news programs as well as on PBS in Utah. National recognition came when her work was highfighted on the syndicated television program, "P. M. Magazine", as well as being shown in many newspapers and magazines across the country. She is currently a contributing writer for "Glass Artist Magazine". While in Utah, she originated and coordinated the first afl glass art exhibition in the four-state intermountain region. That show, and the successive shows she chaired, were the largest glass exhibits shown in the United States at that time.

One of Linda's most impressive achievements is the glass way that is the focal point of the museum at the Holocaust Learning Center sponsored by the Jewish Federation of Broward County, Florida. The museum is located at the David Posnack Jewish Community Center in Cooper City. Her work also graces the entryway of St. Matthew's Catholic Church in Hallandale, Florida, and she is currently designing forty two additional windows for the Church. While a resident of the Virgin Islands, she restored and re-designed the stained glass and etched glass doors of the historic Paiewonsky mansion (circa 1800).

Because of the quality and unique nature of Linda's glass work, she has been nominated for inclusion in "Who's Who in American Art". Her stained and carved glass art can be found in collections and galleries from the Virgin Islands to Hawaii and many places in between. However, most of her work is done on special commission from her clients.

Linda has co-authored four books and a video about stained and carved glass design which are in international distribution. She also enjo ys traveling, teaching, lecturing, and doing industry consultation. She was elected President of the Stained Glass Designers Association in 1995, and has been accepted for membership in the International Stained Glass Guild.
